A local guide for visitors who care about a good haircut
Sarasota has a way of pulling people in. The beaches, the arts scene, the food — once people discover this part of Florida’s Gulf Coast, they tend to come back. Some of them become regulars at The Barber Chair, even when they’re only in town for a week.
If you’re visiting Sarasota this summer and your hair is overdue for some attention, you don’t have to settle for a chain salon. We’re here, we’re good, and walk-ins are welcome.
Why Visitors Keep Coming Back to The Barber Chair
There’s something different about a real barbershop. Not a salon. Not a franchise with a number system and a tablet at every station. A proper gentlemen’s barbershop where the barbers have actual skills, the conversation is easy, and you leave looking significantly better than when you walked in.
“We’re about 10 minutes from Siesta Key. A lot of guys decide they need a haircut after a few days at the beach — we’re the answer to that.”

The Straight Razor Shave You’ve Been Putting Off
Here’s something we hear a lot from visitors: they’ve always wanted to try a straight razor shave but keep waiting for the right moment. If you’re on vacation in Sarasota, this is that moment. You’re already treating yourself — a $40 straight razor shave with hot towel prep is genuinely one of the better ways to spend 30 minutes, and you’ll feel the difference for days.
Traveling With Kids? We Do Great Boys Haircuts, Too
A lot of families visiting Sarasota find themselves wanting a haircut for the boys somewhere between beach days and the drive home. We’re good with kids — patient barbers, quick service, and cuts that actually look the way parents want them to look. Kids 9 and under are $26.
